National Scholarship Portal (NSP): how to apply, step by step

Published on 1 min read

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is the government portal where students can apply for many central and state scholarships in one place. The steps below show the usual process.

Steps

  • Check that you are eligible for the scholarship scheme you want.
  • Register on the portal with your own mobile number and email.
  • Log in and fill in your personal, academic and bank details.
  • Upload the documents asked and submit the form.
  • Take a printout of the final submission and note your application ID.

Before applying, keep these ready as soft copies (scans or clear photos):

  • Aadhaar number linked to your mobile
  • Bank passbook or cancelled cheque (account in your own name)
  • Previous year marksheet
  • Income certificate (if required)
  • Caste certificate (if required)
  • Passport size photograph
  • College or school ID or fee receipt

Dates, fees and eligibility change from year to year. Always read the latest official notification before you apply, and keep a copy of your confirmation page.
